Maxwell joins Edinburgh from Lightning on short-term deal

Loughborough Lightning have agreed to release Jenny Maxwell on a short-term loan deal to team up with Edinburgh Rugby.

The 31-year-old has not featured for Lightning since March 2022 due to a knee injury which also ruled her out of the Rugby World Cup for Scotland later that year.

Scrum-half Maxwell, who is a contracted Scotland international, will continue her rehabilitation with Edinburgh after Lightning granted permission for the temporary move.

She could feature in their very first match on Saturday 30 December at the Hive Stadium against Glasgow Warriors.
