The Wanderers’ preparations for the upcoming Premiership Rugby Shield got off to a great start at Iffley Road on Friday night, a young side running in seven tries against the students of Oxford University.
Ryan Olowofela led the way with a double, while there were also scores for Manny Iyogun, Tui Uru, Mitch Eadie, Tommy Freeman and Lewis Bean against a Dark Blues outfit themselves preparing for next month’s Varsity Match at Twickenham.
With Tommy Mathews enjoying a perfect evening from the tee, landing all seven conversions, the runout proved the ideal warm-up for the Wandies’ Premiership Rugby Shield opener, a Franklin’s Gardens date with Wasps on Monday 25 November.
