March saw the hooker make his 100th appearance for the Saints at just 23-years-old and Haywood also maintained his high levels of performance.
In the Premiership, his lineout success rate of 91% is the highest of any player to throw in over 100 times and director of rugby Jim Mallinder praised the Academy graduate’s reliability.
“Mike has been excellent for us this season,” he commented. “He has continued to develop his game and the hard work he puts in week in week out shows in how consistent his performances have been, particularly in the set-piece.
“To also reach a century of appearances at such a young age is a brilliant achievement and illustrates that he is now an important member of our squad.”
The TW Steel Clubman of the Month meanwhile is stadium manager Andy Tresias, who was singled out for his relentless hard work surrounding the ongoing stadium development at Franklin’s Gardens.
