Nine Lightning players feature for Scotland and USA in WXV

Rachel Malcolm captains Scotland as they go in search of a win against Australia to retain their WXV 2 title this weekend.

Both teams enter Saturday’s game at Athlone Sports Stadium (kick-off: 4pm UK time) with two victories to their name, however the Wallaroos have a two-point advantage having secured bonus points in defeating Wales and South Africa.

Scotland overcame Italy and Japan to set up a winner-takes-all battle in Cape Town. Fellow Lightning player Helen Nelson makes her 65th Scotland appearance from fly-half and vice captains the side.

The replacement front row is an all-Loughborough affair with props Anne Young and Christine Belisle and hooker Elis Martin all awaiting the chance to add to their caps.

Four Loughborough Lightning players are also in the USA starting line-up to take on Ireland in WXV 1.

Backs Alev Kelter and Bulou Mataitoga and forwards Hallie Taufoou and Kathryn Treder all feature in Friday’s Vancouver encounter (kick-off: 8.30pm UK time).
