Tom Litchfield signed his first full-time contract with Saints during the summer of 2020.
The Bedford-born centre was an ever-present for Northampton’s Under-18s during the 2019/20 season, having developed within the Samuel Whitbread Academy system and played junior rugby for Bedford Blues.
Litchfield featured for Saints in the 2019 Premiership Rugby 7s tournament at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens before heading to hometown club Bedford Blues on dual registration during the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons as part of Saints' strategic partnership with their Championship neighbours.
Internationally, Litchfield earned a call-up to the England Under-20s squad and featured for them in both the 2021 and 2022 Six Nations, while also appearing in the 2022 Summer Series.
He made his senior debut for Saints on the final day of the 2020/21 season off the bench against Bath and made nine further appearances in 2021/22, scoring his first try against London Irish in the Premiership Rugby Cup.
