Northampton Saints has teamed up with partner Travis Perkins to launch its Big Christmas Toy and Hamper Collection ahead of the Club’s Gallagher Premiership clash with Gloucester Rugby.
When the men in Black, Green and Gold take on the Cherry-and-Whites at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday 30 November, the season of goodwill will be in full force as donations can be made to support thousands of young people in care and families in need across Northamptonshire.
For those who cannot make it to the game, fear not! A Travis Perkins van will be on site at the Gardens from Friday 29 November through to Monday 2 December for people to make donations.
It will be the eleventh time Saints and Travis Perkins have teamed up for this festive activity, with Saints’ players set to visit Northampton General Hospital in December to surprise children and the elderly with their gifts.
Alongside the Toy Collection is an appeal for items of food to be donated for the hamper appeal, which will support the Northampton Children’s Trust.
“Together with our long-standing partner Travis Perkins and the generosity of our fantastic supporters and the community of Northampton, the Big Toy and Hamper Collection has brought joy to thousands of children and families across the county,” said Ulundi Makhanya, Director of Commercial Partnerships at Northampton Saints.
“This time of year can provide many challenges for families and young people, especially with the current cost of living situation, so initiatives such as this are hugely important. The generosity our supporters show for the Toy Collection is always fantastic and we’re sure we will have another successful year.”
Saints supporters can get involved by…
- Spending no more than £10 on a new toy or gift (see the list below for loads of ideas) or picking five items from the hamper list and putting them in a Christmas bag.
- Bring your toy, gift or hamper goodies along to Northampton Saints’ match against Gloucester on Saturday 30 November (kick-off: 3pm) and drop them off at one of multiple points at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens.
- Donations can be made at the Travis Perkins truck by the statue in the VIP car park, or various collections points around the Supporter Village and stadium.
- If you are unable to attend the game, you can still support – pop along to one of the following where you can leave your toy or food donation anytime between now and Saturday 30 November:
- Travis Perkins branch on Harvey Reeves Road
- Reception at The Hub in Northampton
- Reception at the Primary Distribution Hub in Brackmills
- Donations will also be accepted at the main reception or Saints Store at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens leading up to the game
Thank you for your continued support and for changing the lives of young people and children at Christmas!
