Northampton Saints winger Ollie Sleightholme has been named Travis Perkins Player of the Month for March, after claiming almost 50% of the supporter vote.
The 21-year-old winger takes home the prize after edging out fellow nominees Teimana Harrison, Paul Hill, Tom James and Api Ratuniyarawa, with his five tries in just three appearances throughout the month winning over Saints supporters as the side toppled Sale Sharks and Worcester Warriors.
Not only did Sleightholme’s prolific try-scoring help Northampton keep themselves firmly in the chase for a top four spot, the fast-footed winger contributed heavily to Saints’ 100+ points and almost 2,000 metres made in their four outings. And on a personal level, the youngster slipped passed some nine defenders in March without letting a single one get around him – keeping a 100% record in his tackle stats throughout the month (19).
Saints and Travis Perkins have joined forces this season to offer supporters the chance to win fantastic prizes, while rewarding Northampton’s players for their stellar performances throughout the campaign.
This month’s winner was Julie Partridge, who was selected at random out of over 1000 supporters who voted to win £50 worth of Saints Store vouchers.
