In just over a month’s time, the future stars of rugby will be on show when the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens comes to Franklin’s Gardens.
Saints will line up against Saracens, Harlequins and Gloucester Rugby for what is set to be an exciting evening of fast-flowing rugby with plenty of tries!
The past few seasons have seen the Singha 7s become a breeding ground for stars of the future and that is certainly the case when it comes to the Saints.
Last year, Harry Mallinder starred in the tournament and is now a World Champion at under-20 level having captained England to the Under 20 World Championship on Saturday.
Speaking after his side’s victory, Mallinder said: “To win the tournament was the icing on the cake.
“We’ve put in a lot of hard work, it’s great to get the win as reward.”
Another Saint to shine at the Singha 7s is Teimana Harrison. The back rower made his Test debut for England against Wales at Twickenham in May and went on to start England’s third Test against Australia in Sydney on Saturday as the men in white secured an historic 3-0 series whitewash on Australian soil.
When asked about the young Saints, former England captain Martin Corry: “He’s a special talent.
“Harrison for me has really looked to inject power into the Saints’ game with his carrying, his turnovers and his defence.”
It will be carnival time at Franklin’s Gardens on Friday, July 29th as Rio comes to the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens Series! The Saints take on Saracens, Harlequins and Gloucester in an evening full of entertainment and fun, on and off the pitch. Book your tickets now at www.tinyurl.com/SaintsSevensHeaven.
