Just three games were played during a tough month, albeit one that ended with a vital comeback win over Saracens to confirm the Saints’ place in the Aviva Premiership playoffs for a sixth straight year.
One man who played a crucial role in that progression was Luther Burrell, the centre’s brilliant solo break laying on the Saints’ only try of the afternoon for Samu Manoa.
Burrell would pass four Saracens defenders with ball in hand – a number he matched in a bruising midfield display at Exeter, despite defeat. He would also complete all 160 of those minutes without missing a tackle.
Calum Clark has already scooped two TW Steel watches in 2014/15, but his form shows no sign of letting up and could well land him an unprecedented hat-trick of awards.
Despite just the three outings, the flanker still managed to rack up a hefty 52 carries and tackles combined. Clark, unsurprisingly, remains the Saints’ top tackler and turnover winner for the campaign.
Another past Steffans Player of the Month completes the trio, February winner Jamie Elliott earning inclusion for another brilliant string of displays.
Like Burrell, the winger stood out at Sandy Park, bagging himself a try and then contributing another non-stop display at stadiummk. Elliott’s month entailed 30 carries for 137 metres with ball in hand, taking him past four defenders in the process.
