Northampton Saints to host Open Training Session during Easter holidays

Northampton Saints are throwing open the Club’s gates and giving supporters a unique chance to see their heroes behind-the-scenes in an Open Training Session.

cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens will host the event on Wednesday 16 April – during the Northamptonshire schools’ Easter holiday period – with gates opening from 11.30am for a 12.30pm start.

From the vantage point of the Carlsberg Stand, supporters will get the chance to see firsthand how Director of Rugby Phil Dowson and his coaching team prepare the men in Black, Green and Gold for a crucial Gallagher Premiership clash, with Saints’ Round 14 trip to Newcastle Falcons coming just two days later on Friday 18 April.

“Our supporters have been fantastic so far this season in their backing of the team, packing out cinch Stadium week after week,” said Dowson.

“Engaging with our fans is so important for us, so we’re really looking forward to opening up our doors and seeing everyone in person for this Open Training Session event – hopefully we can provide a bit of insight for the public into how we prepare the team for a crucial Premiership match.

“I’m sure the atmosphere in the ground will be brilliant, and that will lift the squad in what will be a really important week of preparation for us.”

Live interviews during the hour-long training session with members of the Club’s coaching staff, analysis team, and players will give attendees a unique insight into what makes Saints tick – with Dowson’s side honing their attack, defence and set-piece preparations on the main pitch, before running some 15v15 game blocks.

After training, supporters will get the opportunity to move pitchside to collect autographs and selfies with their favourite Saints stars!

The Rodber Bar will be open with drinks and hot food options available, young fans can showcase their skills in a passing challenge, and beloved club mascot Bernie the Dog will also be in attendance at the event.

A limited number of tickets are available now for this exciting event on a first come, first served basis for just £2.50* for adults and £1.50* for juniors. Admission for babes in arms (children aged three and under) is free of charge, while parking will also be available for free in Car Park D.
