Aiden Ainsworth-Cave, Ollie Scola and Jonny Weimann have all been named in England Under-20s’ matchday squad to face Scotland this weekend.
Mark Mapletoft’s side have already beaten Ireland and France in the competition’s opening rounds, and the Red Rose welcome their north-of-the-border rivals to Kingston Park in Newcastle this Friday evening (kick-off: 7.15pm) – with the match shown live on BBC iPlayer.
Scola and Ainsworth-Cave have featured in both of England’s Six Nations matches so far and will earn their third caps if they enter the action off the bench, while 18-year-old scrum-half Weimann is set to make his Under-20s debut (having already represented his country at Under-18s level).
“Returning from a fallow week, the mood around camp is buoyant and energetic after a good start to the tournament,” said Mapletoft.
“Nevertheless, the boys are taking ownership to remain absolutely focused on another demanding evening under the lights.”
