The recent festive fixtures and Friday night games at Franklin’s Gardens have meant that the original schedule of age group tournaments has had to be tweaked slightly from what was announced at the start of the season.
However with the return of Saturday rugby in February comes a renewal of rivalries between local clubs, and there is an added opportunity to shine before the Under-20 Six Nations international between England and Ireland as well!
The age group tournaments resume with the Under-13s battling it out before the crucial LV= Cup Round 4 game between the Saints and Saracens on Saturday, February 1st.
Then on February 15th there will be no love lost between the Under-9s before the Saints take on Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership.
England Under-20 host Ireland Under-20 on Saturday, February 22nd, and the 6:15pm kick off allows the Saints to hold two tournaments – one for girls teams and another for Under-15 boys teams. And with the Saints Academy staff always on the look-out for up-and-coming talented players there is the added incentive to perform!
Finally, the Under-7s will get their chance to shine before the Saints host Gloucester in the Aviva Premiership on Saturday, March 1st.
As well as having the opportunity to play on the Franklin’s Gardens training pitches, the winners and runners-up will both receive their medals and trophies on the main pitch during the half-time interval of that day’s Saints game.
