Munster vs Northampton Saints

Saints have the ball! A chip from Munster is grabbed and Freeman is tackled. Less than 20 seconds to play!

Smith gives it an almighty whack but it falls short. Munster run the ball out, there’s a minute to play.

PENALTY TO SAINTS! Saints get the nudge on, Munster collapse the maul! There’s just over two minutes to play. Smith is having a go from inside his own half, five metres out from touch!

This is tense. A kicking battle is ensuing. Saints go deep through Mitchell, Munster boom it up to near halfway. The rain is lashing down, Smith hits Moon, the drive is on.

Fin-tastic! The young fly-half kicks brilliantly into touch inside the Munster 22. The home side throw in five metres from their own goalline and clear to Furbank who is hit hard on the 10-metre line.

Mitchell sends the box kick up from the restart and Munster whip the ball wide. Lawes and Odendaal hold Musnter up though to earn the put it at the scrum for Saints on halfway. 

Penalty Saints at the breakdown off the lineout as Lawes gets over the ball again. F Smith puts this one into the corner. 

F Smith spots space in behind and sends a grubber through to touch. Lineout Munster back in their own 22. 

The sides exchange kicks on the restart but it's Saints who take the ball into contact first. F Smith chips over the top and though Munster get there first, Saints' defence is up and Casey is forced to send the box kick high. Freeman is there and Saints play on again. 

Big shove from Saints at the scrum and they get the penalty. F Smith points to the posts. 

Knock on Saints in the midfield though and Munster will have the scrum. 

Crowley clears to touch on the restart for a Saints lineout back near halfway. 

Odendaal comes on for Hutchinson as we restart. 

Penalty Munster at the breakdown just off the scrum though as Munster get on the ball and Crowley points to the posts. 

Big defensive effort from Saints and they get the reward in the form of a knock on from Munster. Scrum Saints.

Saints are pushed into touch on the restart though and Munster will have the lineout on Saints' 22. 

Iyogun and Moon enter play as we set the scrum, with Waller and Mayanavanua making way. 

Mitchell sends the ball downfield on the restart and Freeman is in chase. And though Munster get there first, they knock the ball on. Scrum Saints. 

Penalty Saints at the breakdown off the lineout as Munster fail to release and Smith points to the posts. 

Munster play away from the scrum quickly and Lawes gets over the ball at the breakdown to earn Saints the penalty. F Smith puts it into touch for a lineout just outside Munster's 22. 

Millar Mills replaces Davison as we set the scrum.

Not straight at the lineout from Saints though and Munster have the scrum. 

No conversion for Crowley and Casey sends the high kick up on the restart. Graham is there but the ball comes loose in the next phase and Munster scoop it up. But Smith pushes O'Mahoney into touch as Munster break into Saints' half. Lineout Saints there. 

Sam Graham replaces Augustus as we restart.

Penalty Munster the scrum and Munster tap it quickly. 

R Smith replaces Sleightholme as we set the scrum. 

Furbank returns to the field as we set the lineout and Saints defend hard as Munster push into their 22. And though Saints turn the ball over, the ball is stripped forwards off Saints hands and Munster have the scrum. 

Mitchell box kicks downfield off the restart and Munster gather. the crosffield kick comes over to Frisch but he's taken down and Crowley tries to send one the other way. Dingwall is there to gather it though and he marks the kick before sending it into touch for a Munster lineout.

Casey sends the box kick up from the restart and Freeman is there.  Mitchell sends the box kick high himself and Saints strip the ball as it comes down. They earn a penalty just after too as Munster fail to roll away and Smith points to the posts. 

Smith gets us back underway here at Thomond Park. 

Munster push up to Saint's 22 off the lineout and keep coming. 

Crowley puts the resulting penalty into touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Saints steal the ball at the breakdown just outside Munster's 22 but there's a head knock on Munster's side and we pause the game while the player is seen to.

Munster opt for the tap with the resulting penalty and they're on the five metre line now. 

Munster gather the high ball and push into Saints' 22 now. There's a penalty against Saints there though and Casey takes it quickly. He's up to the five metre line before he's taken. But the TMO intervenes for possible foul play against Saints in the build up. 

Crowley's kick is short though and there's a 22 drop out for Saints to restart. 

Penalty Munster at the breakdown though and Crowley points to the posts again for a long-range effort. 

Crowley sends the ball downfield off the restart and Saints scoop it up and play on on the halfway line. 

Solid at the scrum and Casey gets the ball away. They play a few phases before the scrum-half sends the ball high. Saints gather but Munster's defence rushes up and they get over the ball at the next phase. Crowley points to the posts with the resulting penalty. 

Overthrow at the lineout from Munster and Saints come wide left. But they're held up there and Munster will have the scrum. 

Saints earn the penalty as Munster fail to roll away and Mitchell taps it quickly. He and Furbank move up to the 22 but Saints are penalised at the breakdown for going off their feet. Crowley puts it into touch for a lineout.

Casey sends the box kick up himself and Saints come forwards. With Smith hacking through for Freeman to chase. But Munster get there first and send the ball back Saints' way. 

Saints come forwards off the scrum before Mitchell sends the box kick up. Munster gather and play on halfway. 

Munster push forwards into Saints' 22 but knock the ball on there and Saints have the scrum this time. 

Miscommunication from Saints on the restart though and there's a knock on as the high ball comes down. Scrum Munster just outside Saints' 22. 

Augustus barrels his way through Munster's line to get Saints into Munster's 22 and still Saints come. 

Big shove from Saints at the scrum and they earn the penalty for their efforts. Smith puts the ball into touch for a lineout back in Munster's half. 

Free kick Munster at the scrum as Saints are pinged fort pushing early and the home side choose to scrum again. 

Saints try to come quickly down the short side off the lineout but there's a knock on there and Munster have the scrum. 

Penalty Sants at the lineout though and Smith puts the ball into touch for another lineout on halfway. 

Mitchell sends the box kick up and Lawes gets to it first to tap the ball back Saints' way. And Saints get the penalty at the breakdown just after as Munster fail to roll away. Smith's kick to touch is kept in by the wind and Casey send the ball back Saints' way, finding touch inside the away half. Lineout Saints there.

Smith puts the ball on his boot off the lineout and Zebo is there. Munster play on before Casey sends the box kick up again. Freeman is there and Saints play on themselves. 

Good pressure from Saints off the lineout and Casey sends the box kick up. He finds touch well for a Saints lineout back near halfway. 

Saints intercept a stray Munster pass and come wide quickly to Hutchinson. The centre puts the ball on his boot and it eventually bobbles into touch five metres from the tryline. Lineout Munster there. 

Scrappy at the scrum and the penalty goes Munster's way. Crowley puts it into touch for a lineout on halfway.

Lawes takes Saints into the 22 but there's another knock on in contact there and Munster will have the scrum. 

Smith sends the ball high and though Zebo is there, his returning kick heads straight out. Lineout Saints just outside Munster's 22. 

Munster clear from the restart and Furbank is back to take it. Saints push on up to the halfway line now. 

Saints get close the 22 but there's a knock on in contact and Munster will have the put in at the scrum. 

Casey sends the ball high and Saints play on again. They push into the Munster half through Smith and Sleightholme and keep pushing, working up to the 22 now.

Munster clear from the back of the scrum and Furbank is there to gather. Saints steady themselves before Mitchell sends the box kick up. Zebo takes it and Munster play on themselves. 

Solid at the scrum but Saints knock the ball on at the next phase and Munster will have the put in at this scrum. 

The ball heads straight out from the kick-off and Saints have the scrum on halfway. 

Crowley gets us underway at a wet and windy Thomond Park for the final Pool Round of the Investec Champions Cup.
