LOCATION: cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens
OVERVIEW:
cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens is one of eight venues across England that have been selected to host the Women’s Rugby World Cup in the summer of 2025.
cinch Stadium will be hosting six matches between nine teams from across the world – including the world number one ranked side, England’s Red Roses. Northampton Saints are delighted to be offering the opportunity for a University student with an interest in event, venue and operations management to assist in the delivery of this major International tournament.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Play a key role in the delivery of the Women’s Rugby World Cup matches at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens
- Assist with logistical planning of the day-to-day running of the venue alongside the tournament – including daily conferences and events, pre-season training for Northampton Saints, and any building or renovation works
- Liaise with key stakeholders from World Rugby and their associated contractors in the preparation of the venue for the tournament
- Working with departments across the organisation, ensure that all matchdays are delivered to the highest possible standard, and that all departments are aware of any impacts on their day-to-day work at the venue
- Provide administrative support to the Operations team in the preparation and delivery of the tournament, including health and safety documentation, accreditation and matchday running orders
- Attend relevant planning meetings in the lead up to, and for the duration of, the tournament
The duties and responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive and the successful applicant may be required to undertake additional duties to meet the needs of the organisation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:
- A University student undertaking an undergraduate degree – ideally with a particular interest in sports management, events or leisure, although any discipline will be considered
- Highly-motivated and organised, with a keen interest in understanding the operations of a leading multi-use sporting venue and being involved in the delivery of a major sporting tournament
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
- IT literate with ability to utilise Excel to collate, organise and present data
