Four Loughborough Lightning stars have been named in the Great Britain 7s squad for the upcoming tournament in Hamburg – with Jess Weaver, Georgina Tasker, Emma Hardy and Georgie Lingham all linking up with the side ahead of the second leg of the 2023 Women’s 7s Championship Series.
Great Britain claimed a silver medal in the first leg of this year’s Series – beating Portugal, Italy, Spain and Poland – but a pair of losses to France meant that it was the French side that took home the gold medal in the opening round.
GB Women’s side recently booked their place at next summer’s Paris Olympics thanks to a gold medal at the European games last month, and will be hoping to add another gold medal to their collection in the second leg of the Series this weekend – as they face Sweden, Czechia and Spain in Hamburg on 7-9 July.
