In all a huge 12 ton-sized rubble bags were filled with toys and gifts brought to Franklin’s Gardens, which will be distributed by Northamptonshire County Council to young people in care and in need across the county in the run-up to Christmas.
This is the second year that the club have teamed up with Travis Perkins for the Big Christmas Toy Collection, and group corporate communications manager David Manning says that the initiative will make a big difference this festive season.
"Once again Saints supporters have demonstrated their amazing generosity,” he said. “We've collected hundreds of toys and gifts for children in care or in need across Northamptonshire at the game tonight. We can really put a big smile on the faces of less fortunate children this Christmas.
“A huge thank you.”
Donations for the Travis Perkins Big Christmas Toy Collection will still be accepted during the coming week either at main reception at Franklin’s Gardens or at any of the Northampton branches of Travis Perkins.
