On Saturday 30th April players from Northampton Saints Wheelchair Rugby team took part in a tournament against other Wheelchair Rugby clubs and the Invictus Games team at Stoke Mandeville Stadium.
The players, who have been training with Saints coaches for the last four months, took the knowledge and understanding they had gained in training to the next level and gained invaluable experience of how to play the game competitively.
The tournament was a trial for a new, more inclusive variation of the sport which would enable a wider level of ability to take part.
Earlier this season we spoke to Saints Community Coach, Connor Fleming, who has been leading the Saints' Wheelchair rugby programme and Simon Starr, of GB Wheelchair Rugby, about how the team has been coming along since forming in November.
