This Friday, Northampton Saints face Bedford Blues in the Mobbs Memorial Match – with the first fixture within the new format taking place at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens (13 September, kick-off: 7.45pm).
One of rugby’s oldest annual fixtures, the Mobbs Memorial Match was created in 1921 and honours Saints legend, World Rugby Hall-of-Fame inductee, and World War One hero, Edgar Mobbs.
The match has always supported the charitable aims of the Mobbs Memorial Fund, which promotes the development of age-group rugby throughout the East Midlands by way of grants to clubs within the East Midlands Rugby Union – and this will continue within the fixture’s new format.
Saints and Bedford supporters alike will be able to support the work of the Fund in a variety of different places on matchday, with full details of how to donate below:
RAFFLE:

- Tickets for the raffle cost just £5* and are available online now HERE, with all proceeds from the raffle going to the Mobbs Memorial Fund.

AUCTION:
- There are more one-of-a-kind items up for grabs in the auction, with the lots live to bid on now.
- Up for grabs are:
- A brand-new replica shirt (size medium) signed by the 24/25 squad.
- A champions bundle, including a ball signed by the 23/24 squad and a copy of ‘Champions: The story of the 2023-24 season’.
- Bids can be placed now, with the auction open online HERE. All proceeds from these two lots will go to the Mobbs Memorial Fund.

BUCKET SHAKE:
- There will be bucket shakers around the stadium on Friday night, please give generously where you can!
DONATIONS:
- There will be an opportunity to donate £2.50 to the Mobbs Memorial Fund when having your photo taken with the Gallagher Premiership trophy in the Supporter Village on Friday.
- You will also be able to make donations in the Saints Store and at the stadium bars, with a ‘One for Mobbs’ donation available at purchase.
The clash takes place under the lights on Friday – with tickets still available for just £12.50 adult / £7 child*, where £2.50 / £2 from every adult / child ticket sold will be donated to the Mobbs Memorial Fund – with the men in Black, Green and Gold welcoming neighbours Bedford in their final preparations for the coming Gallagher Premiership season, where Saints will attempt to defend the trophy they lifted back in June.
Friday’s match is included in 2024/25 Season Ticket packages, with supporters able to sit in their regular Season Ticket seat.
