Guide to the Gardens: Saints vs Bath & Lightning vs Saracens

Northampton Saints face Bath Rugby in the Premiership Rugby Cup and Loughborough Lightning take on Saracens in the Allianz Cup in a cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens DOUBLE HEADER on Saturday 30 September (kick-offs 3pm & 5.15pm).

It promises to be a fantastic afternoon of entertaining rugby with the men in Black, Green and Gold continuing their preparations for their Gallagher Premiership and Investec Champions Cup campaigns against old rivals Bath, while Lightning play their first home game at the Gardens this season against Saracens.

Both Saints and Lightning were narrowly beaten late on in last weekend’s respective Cup games, and will be eager to bounce back with victories in this unique and exciting Double Header of fixtures.

  • + Tickets

    • Tickets for Northampton Saints vs Bath / Loughborough Lightning vs Saracens are still available to purchase HERE – with prices starting at £20 adults / £6 child*.
    • Please note that to attend the Lightning match, you must have purchased a Saints vs Bath ticket. Loughborough Lightning Season Tickets cover the side’s nine league matches at the Gardens, but not this Cup / Double Header fixture.
    • Your match tickets are attached to your purchase confirmation email – please ensure you have these either printed on A4 paper, viewable on your smartphone, or added to your smartphone digital wallet before arriving at the stadium. Screenshots of your tickets are not accepted by the scanners on our turnstiles.
    • Meanwhile, 23/24 Season Ticket Holders will be able to access the ground using their Season Ticket cards.
    • Please note; in line with the Club’s sustainability policy, Season Ticket cards have not been reprinted for the 2023/24 season. Unless you have changed your seat or upgraded your ticket, your card from last season has been re-activated and will grant you access to the ground via the turnstiles. If you have lost or thrown away your card, you can have another one printed at the Ticket Office for a £10 admin fee.
    • You can now enter the ground via the doors to the Rodber Bar, where your ticket will be scanned – allowing you to pick up a drink or some food on the way to your seat!

     

  • + Entertainment

    • East Midlands based singer / songwriter Alice Kübe will be performing in the Supporter Village before both the Saints v Bath and the Lightning v Saracens matches. 
    • Head to the Supporter Village before the game on Saturday for your chance to grab a photo with the Gallagher Premiership trophy! 
    • The second instalment of Bernie’s Challenge comes at half-time of the Northampton match as two Saints supporters compete in a kicking competition on the pitch!
    • You can also head to the Family Zone to have a go at Saints’ passing challenge and see our face painters!
    • Buckingham Rugby Club are Saturday’s Club of the Match, and will form the Guard of Honour as Loughborough Lightning take to the field.
    • Club Partner Spirit Hyundai will be in the Village on Saturday showcasing the new Ioniq 6 – see them to find out more.
    • We’ll be joined by the stars of the future on Saturday, with the Under-11s Defender Cup taking place on Pitch 2 and 3 from 10am. There will be a Parade of Clubs featuring around 20 teams on the pitch at half-time – give them a wave as they pass you.
    • Fiji v Georgia in the Rugby World Cup (kick off 4:45pm) will be screened in the Rodber Bar.

     

  • + For the kids

    • Are you bringing a mini-Saint to their very first match at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens? If so, we want to make it extra special with a First-time Fan Certificate, so they will never forget their first time watching the men in Black, Green and Gold. Fill out THIS FORM to be sent a certificate via email.
    • Kids can also play along with our new MATCHDAY BINGO cards during the match – to make the game even more fun!
    • And for anyone whose weekly pocket money is burning a hole in their pocket, we’ve curated a special list of items for just £10 and under available from the Saints Store on matchday.
    • There will also be face painting in the Family Zone inside the Supporter Village from 1pm until 3pm.

     

  • + FAN RADIOS

    • As a result of reduced broadcast coverage during the Premiership Rugby Cup, Fan Radios will only broadcast the referee’s microphone at the weekend. 
    • Please also note that due to Premiership Women’s Rugby regulations the Fan Radios will not be functioning during Lightning vs Saracens.

     

  • + 23/24 season tickets

    • Northampton Saints v Bath is included in the 2023/24 Season Ticket package. Season Ticket Holders can use their Season Ticket cards to access the ground. 
    • Prices** for the remainder of the season start from just £24 for adults and £8 for children per match (pro rata) – with the Ticket Office open from 10am on Saturday until half-time of the Loughborough match, for those wishing to purchase or renew in person.

    • For the first time this season, all of Lightning’s home Premiership Women’s Rugby league matches will be played at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens.​ Season Tickets start from just £60 adult / £45 adult terrace / £25 junior (under-18s), with a special discounted rate available for Saints Season Ticket Holders, Saints Members, and those who purchased a Lightning ticket bundle during the 2022/23 campaign.

     

  • + Food & Drink

    • A wide selection of bars and food stalls are open within the Village and stadium throughout matchday – please see the map above for full details of all the Food & Drink outlets around the Stadium.
    • You can also find food units from Saul’s of Spratton and West Cornwall Pasties in the Rodber Bar throughout matchday.
    • New for the 2023/24 season, Loaded Fries will be available as a hot food option within the Members Bar.  
    • Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are all available around the ground. 
    • Please be aware that cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens is a cashless stadium; all bars and food outlets will only accept card payments.

     

  • + Saints Store

    • The Saints Store is open from 10am on matchday until 3pm, before re-opening for approximately 30 minutes after the full-time whistle of Saints vs Bath. Once you have entered the ground, you will not be able to access the Saints Store but the Village Store will be open throughout matchday.
    • Our Village Store (located inside the Supporter Village) will open at 1pm until half-time of Lightning vs Saracens.
    • The Trailer Store will also be open in a new location opposite the Crooked Hooker from 1pm until 30 minutes after Saints vs Bath.

     

  • + Memberships / Saints Rewards

    • All Season Ticket Holders and Saints Members will earn 15 Saints Rewards points for attending this fixture.
    • You can also earn an additional 30 points for entering the ground within one hour of the gates opening at 1pm.
    • Link your payment card to your Saints Rewards account (instructions HERE) and spend at the bar and food outlets around the ground to earn even more points on your account.

     

  • + Eco Cups

    • Refunds on EcoCup deposits will ONLY be made contactlessly (via card) – cash refunds are no longer issued. 
    • Refunds on EcoCup returns will be available at at least one till unit in all bars across the stadium.
    • Alternatively, EcoCup deposits can be donated into one of the Northampton Saints Foundation’s branded bins around the ground – Northampton Saints Foundation will receive a donation for every cup deposited, with funds raised supporting life-changing programmes for children across the county. To see where you can donate your cups, please CLICK HERE.

     

  • + Car Parking

    • Car Parking (in Claret Car Park, NN5 5JT) will be available for £7.50 on the day via contactless payment upon arrival. Car parking tickets are not available to purchase in advance. Car Parks open at 12pm, with the stadium opening its gates at 1pm.
    • Please also be aware that there will be no movement in the VIP Car Park from ten minutes before the full-time whistle for approximately 25 minutes. As usual, traffic management will be in place in Car Park D, Claret Car Park and on Edgar Mobbs Way. 
    • After the Car Parks close at 11pm on Saturday, there will be no access to any vehicle left behind until Monday morning.
    • Given that cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens sits in a residential area of the town, Saints strongly urge all supporters to use the Club’s car parks. Should they choose not to do so, supporters must park with due care and respect for the needs of local residents and businesses.

     

  • + Smoking

    • cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens is a NO SMOKING stadium. Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes is not permitted anywhere in the stadium or Supporter Village pre, during or post-match. 
    • Supporters wishing to smoke will be allowed to exit the stadium during half-time to use one of the designated smoking areas outside Gates 1, 2, 3 and 4 – stewards will be on hand to direct you and will manage exit and re-entry into the stadium.

     

  • + Northampton Saints Foundation

    • Don’t forget, you can drop your EcoCup in one of the Northampton Saints Foundation’s branded bins around the ground – the Foundation will receive a donation for every cup deposited, with funds raised supporting life-changing programmes for children across the county. To see where you can donate your cups, please CLICK HERE.
    • You can also have a go at the Northampton Saints Foundation’s raffle – find them in the Rodber Bar and around the Supporter Village on Saturday!
    • Face painting will also be held in the Inclusion Hub.

     

  • + OTHER IMPORTANT INFO

    • ​The Club requests that supporters refrain from standing at the side of the pitch to watch the warm-up to prevent congestion. Please watch the warm-up from your seat.
    • As cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens is a front-loading stadium, Northampton Saints asks supporters to refrain from moving around the stadium while the match is in play to avoid blocking the view of your fellow supporters. Please note, you may be held back from returning to your seat by our stewards until there is a break in play.
