Guide to the Final: Northampton Saints vs Bath Rugby

Northampton Saints take on Bath Rugby this Saturday (8 June, kick-off: 3pm) in the 2023/24 Gallagher Premiership Final at Twickenham Stadium.

The men in Black, Green and Gold finished top of the table after the regular season and progressed to this weekend's showdown courtesy of a thrilling 22-20 victory over defending champions Saracens at a packed-out cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens last week.

Bath finished second in the league, tied on points with Saints, and overcame last season's beaten finalists Sale Sharks in another compelling play-off contest.

A huge army of Saints supporters are heading down to Twickenham to watch the Fiinal, which is completely SOLD OUT! You will find all the information you need to have the best day possible below.

Car Parking in Northampton

  • + Where can I park at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens?

    • Parking for all vehicles at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday is in Car Park D (NN5 5JT). 
    • Supporters will only be allowed access to this Car Park if they are booked onto one of the official Club coaches. You will need to show your Coach Parking ticket to a member of staff on the gates to enter Car Park D. 
    • Please note; all vehicles parking in Car Park D must be below 2.2m in height.

     

  • + How much is it to park in Car Parks?

    • Parking in Car Park D is free for all supporters with a valid coach ticket for one of the Club’s official coaches.

     

  • + What time do Car Parks open?

    • Car Park D opens at 8am on Saturday.

     

  • + Can I pre-book parking?

    • No, parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. But there will be ample car parking for all supporters who are travelling on the Club’s official coaches.

     

  • + What time will Car Parks close on Saturday night?

    • Car Parks will close to supporters at midnight on Saturday night.
    • There will be no access to any vehicles left in the Club’s Car Parks until they are re-opened at 6am on Sunday morning. 

     

  • + Can I park my car at the stadium overnight?

    • Yes, Car Park D will reopen from 6am on Sunday morning for you to collect your vehicles.

     

  • + What time will coaches be arriving back in Northampton?

    • We hope to have all coaches back in Northampton by 9pm latest.

     

  • + Will there be any food and drink available after we have parked on Saturday morning?

    • Yes, there will be some food (toasties, etc) and hot drinks available from a van in the Car Park where the coaches will depart. 

     

  • + Are there toilets I can use before departing for Twickenham on the coach?

    • Yes, the toilets at the South West corner of cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens – accessible via the Supporter Village – will be open for use in the morning.

Coach Travel

  • + What time do coaches leave for Twickenham Stadium?

    • Coaches will be leaving from Car Park A (outside the Supporter Village) – with the first coach set to leave at approximately 10am.
    • Please aim to arrive by 9.45am at the latest, or even earlier if you need to visit the Ticket Office or Saints Store first (both open from 8am).
    • Coaches will not depart until every seat is full, so please assist the stewards and fill up the coaches to ensure you get away on time.

     

  • + Where will the coaches be leaving from?

    • Car Parks A, B and C at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens.

     

  • + When should I arrive for my coach?

    • We advise you to arrive as early as possible, but certainly no later than 9.45am.

     

  • + Can I bring food and drink with me on the coach?

    • Yes, but please dispose of all your rubbish responsibly.

     

  • + Are there toilets on the coach?

    • We cannot guarantee that your coach has a toilet.

     

  • + What do I need with me for the coach trip?

    • Please bring your Coach Ticket with you on Saturday, this will be attached to your booking confirmation email. 
    • You can display this via a smartphone or print the ticket out to show on Saturday.

     

  • + Can I leave my belongings on the coach during the game?

    • Yes, but you do so at your own risk, and you need to ensure you return on the same coach as you travelled down on.

     

  • + Where do the coaches park at Twickenham Stadium?

    • The coaches are parking at the Rosebine Car park (TW2 7PS), which is a 10-minute walk to Twickenham Stadium.
    • This is where the coaches will depart from to return to Northampton as well. 
    • Please remember your coach number for your return journey, you will be returning on the same coach.

     

  • + What time do the coaches leave for the return journey?

    • The coaches will begin to leave Twickenham from 45 minutes after the post-match trophy presentation. 
    • Please remember your coach number from the journey down, you will be returning on the same coach.

     

  • + Can I bring a babe-in-arms with me on the coach?

    • Yes, but please note that any children travelling on the coaches must have a ticket if they plan to use a seat. 
    • Children under the age of 3, that are sat on parents/carers laps, do not require a ticket. 
    • You can bring car seats with you but we cannot guarantee that they will fit onto the seats of the coach to be secured.

     

  • + Where will coaches be returning to?

    • Coaches will be returning to the same points they departed from in Car Park A (outside the Supporter Village at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens). 

     

  • + When will the coaches leave Northampton?

    • The coaches will depart cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens once they are full, from 10am onwards.

     

  • + What if I am late for my coach?

    • Unfortunately, coaches will not wait for latecomers. 

     

  • + Will the coaches leave later if the game goes to extra time?

    • Yes, the coaches will still leave 45 minutes after the trophy presentation even if there is extra time.

     

  • + How long will the journey from Northampton or Twickenham take?

    • While it is impossible to predict traffic, the journey should take between two and three hours to get to Twickenham.

Saints Store

  • + Will the Saints Store be open on Saturday?

    • The Saints Store is open from 8am on Saturday morning, closing at 3pm. Come along and purchase merchandise, or pick-up ‘Click & Collect’ orders, to help paint Twickenham Stadium Black, Green and Gold on Saturday afternoon!
    • Please arrive with plenty of time if you are collecting a pre-order before departing on the Club‘s official coaches. We are currently processing a large volume of orders for collection on Saturday morning.

     

  • + Can I collect my pre-order from the Saints Store on Saturday?

    • Yes, orders will be available to collect from the Saints Store – this is open from 8am. 
    • Please arrive with plenty of time if you are collecting a pre-order before departing on the Club‘s official coaches. We are currently processing a large volume of orders for collection on Saturday morning.
    • Please do not try to access the Saints Store via Weedon Road, you will able to access the Store from the Car Parks at the rear of the stadium.

Ticket Office

  • + Will the Saints Ticket Office be open on Saturday?

    • Yes, the Ticket Office will be open from 8am until 3pm.

     

  • + Can I get my coach ticket printed at the Saints Ticket Office?

    • Those who have not printed their coach tickets at home, or are not able to show their barcode on a mobile phone, will be able to have their coach ticket printed at the Saints Ticket Office for a £2.50 fee.

Smoking

  • + Is smoking permitted on the coaches?

    • No, all of the Club’s official coaches are strictly non-smoking.

     

  • + Is smoking permitted at Twickenham Stadium?

    • On matchdays all areas of the stadium (effective from once you enter the stadium through any entrance gate) are non-smoking. If persons wish to smoke they must leave the stadium ensuring that they take their ticket with them and ensuring that the external areas where they smoke they do not obstruct entrance gates and turnstiles.

Travelling to Twickenham by train/tube

  • + HOW DO I GET TO TWICKENHAM BY TRAIN?

    • Twickenham has its own mainline station operating lines to London Waterloo, Reading and Windsor and Eton Riverside.​
    • Twickenham Stadium is a 10 minute walk from the station.
    • Other nearby train stations include Whitton Rail Station and St Margaret's Rail Station.

     

  • + WHICH TUBE LINE IS TWICKENHAM ON?

    • The closest tube stations to Twickenham Stadium are Richmond Rail & Tube which operates both mainline trains and District Line, and Hounslow East Tube which operates the Piccadilly Line.

  • + WHERE CAN I PARK AT TWICKENHAM ON A MATCHDAY?

What can and can't be taken into Twickenham Stadium?

  • + What is Twickenham Stadium's bag policy?

    • If you do not need to bring a bag to the match, please avoid doing so. However, if you do need to bring a bag with you, the following size is permitted: A4 or smaller.
    • Any items over the A4 size must be deposited at the Bag Drop facility at Webb Ellis House on Rugby Road. There is a £5 fee for this service.
    • All bags are searched on entry to Twickenham Stadium so please give yourself enough time to arrive and have this completed before entering.

     

  • + What is not permitted to bring through the turnstiles?

    • Please do not attempt to take any of the following in the stadium:
      • Alcohol
      • Glass containers
      • Cans
      • Knives
      • Air horns
      • Professional recording equipment
      • Large flagpoles (1.5m or longer)
      • Pushchairs and buggies
    • Barbecues and gazebos may not be taken into the RFU car parks or used on the premises.
    • This list is by no means an exhaustive list. The RFU Ground Rules has more details on what may and may not be taken into the Stadium.

Babies/children at Twickenham Stadium

  • + ARE BABIES/CHILDREN PERMITTED INTO THE STADIUM?

    • Juniors are classed as 16 and under for this match. All juniors over the age of two require a ticket. 
    • Babes in arms need to be in a front carrier – buggies, prams and carry seats are not permitted. They do not require a ticket and can be seated anywhere within the stadium.
    • Under-2s do not require a ticket. Parents/Guardians are advised that the middle and upper tier concourses are extremely high and some, adults and juniors, may find this uncomfortable. Children must be supervised in these areas at all times.
    • Children over two require a ticket and can be seated anywhere within the Stadium. Parents/Guardians are advised that the middle and upper tier concourses are extremely high and some, adults and juniors, may find this uncomfortable. We would also advise that the rake of the seats in the upper tier is steep and some people may find this unnerving. We would advise against booking in the upper tier for anyone with children under 8. Children must be supervised at all times.

Cashless payments

  • + IS TWICKENHAM STADIUM CASHLESS?

    • Yes, all bars and catering units accept card only.

GATE AND STADIUM BOWL OPENING

  • + What times does the gates open?

    • Gates into Twickenham Stadium’s Fan Village open at 11.30am.

     

  • + What time can I go to my seat in the stadium?

    • The Stadium bowl opens at 1.30pm, you won't be able to access your seat until this time.

Saints’ arrival at Twickenham Stadium

  • + Where and when will the Saints squad be arriving at Twickenham Stadium?

    • The Saints squad bus will arrive at Twickenham Stadium around 1.30pm – the team will then walk in via The Avenue to the Rose and Poppy Gates and enter the stadium there. 
    • Please come along, bring your flags and cheer the lads into the stadium!

Saints Hospitality at Twickenham Stadium

  • + What time does Saints Hospitality open and close at Twickenham Stadium?

    • The Lock No.4 Hospitality opens at 12pm and closes at 6.10pm.

Food and drink at Twickenham Stadium

  • + What time does the West Fan Village open and close?

    • The West Fan Village opens at 11.30am and closes at 7.30pm.

     

  • + WHAT ARE THE BAR OPENING TIMES?

    • For a club games at Twickenham, bars open two hours before kick-off. Please visit Twickenham Stadium's plan your visit section for the Gallagher Premiership Final and you will find the timings under essential information.

     

  • + WHAT CATERING IS AVAILABLE WITHIN THE STADIUM?

  • + Can I get water inside the stadium?

    • Tap water is available upon request from bars. Please queue in the normal way and on request you will be given a plastic cup of water.
    • Twickenham Stadium also has water stations at the stadium located in the north east and south east corners on ground level.

     

  • + WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE AVAILABLE?

    • All of Twickenham Stadium's bars are card/contactless only, speeding up transactions and helping to reduce queues.

ROADWORKS

  • + M25 closure

    • Between 9pm on Saturday 8 June and 9am Sunday 9 June there will be a full closure of the westbound carriageway of the M25 between Junction 9 and 10 that will also include Cobham Services. 
    • The eastbound carriageway which will also be closed on the M25 at J10 during this time with a diversion via the exit slip, roundabout, and entry slip road where road users will be able to rejoin the M25. For more information, visit HERE.
