George Furbank has been named the cinch Player of the Month for December, with the fullback’s impressive performances in Northampton Saints’ five matches that month seeing him claim over 50% of the supporter vote for the second month running.
Northampton closed out the month and the year at the top of the Gallagher Premiership table and the top of their Investec Champions Cup pool having won all five clashes in December – downing Saracens, Glasgow Warriors, RC Toulon, Gloucester Rugby and Sale Sharks across the month.
And it was the 27-year-old who came out with the overwhelming majority of the supporter vote to take home his second award in as many months as he edged out fellow nominees Tommy Freeman, Courtney Lawes and Tom Pearson.
Furbank featured for 80 minutes in all of Northampton’s December matches and claimed a Player of the Match award for himself against Sale, scoring three tries across the month including a brace against Toulon.

Throughout the season, cinch will also be offering up a range of prizes for those who vote for the award, with one lucky supporter each month selected at random after voting closes.
This month, one lucky supporter was chosen from those who voted, with Stacey Trorey selected at random out of over 800 supporters who voted to collect a shirt signed by the fullback.
