The Saints will be making the short trip to Welford Road as part of the 2016/17 Anglo-Welsh Cup pool stages.
Supporters of both the Saints and Tigers will have to wait until January 2017 for derby day to see if a repeat of the competition’s record crowd - established in January 2015 - can be set once again.
Before then the Saints will have had a trip to Newcastle and a home clash with Gloucester under their belts in November’s two rounds, with a further home game against the Scarlets to come in February’s Round 4.
The Anglo-Welsh Cup has retained the same format as before its one-year hiatus last season, with the Saints’ results being compared with those achieved by Saracens, Bath and Newport-Gwent Dragons, who will all play the same opposition as the Saints will.
The semi-finals and final will be played in March 2017.
One significant change has been a change of TV broadcast partner, with BT Sport taking over from Sky Sports. BT Sport has confirmed its first two rounds of fixtures, with Rounds 3 and 4 still to be confirmed closer to the time.
