While an outstanding Aviva Premiership season ended in a narrow semi-final defeat, there were still some excellent individual and team performances for the month as a whole.
Lee Dickson started every game in May and began the month with a brace of scores in the 46-0 thumping of London Welsh. As well as his usual slick service from the base, his pass accuracy at 96%, the scrum-half also proved a sniping threat around the base, making 10 carries and 54 metres.
Next up, Jamie Elliott earns a third Steffans Player of the Month nomination of a supremely consistent season. Like Dickson, the winger started all three matches and got his name on the scoresheet against London Welsh. In a brave display in defeat to Saracens, Elliott made 15 carries and produced a flawless display under a barrage of high balls.
The third and final nominee is Tom Wood, who turned in a relentless 160 minutes of rugby in May. In his two starts, the England flanker contributed an impressive 37 carries and tackles combined, also adding 12 lineout takes and a semi-final try to the mix for good measure.
