The flanker, outstanding not only in January but the season as a whole, picked up nearly two-thirds of the vote to see off Sam Dickinson and Ken Pisi in a month where he was also called up England’s EPS for the Six Nations.
Clark’s phenomenal work rate sees him lead the Saints’ tackling and turnover charts in the Aviva Premiership and Champions Cup, while he is also the third highest ball carrier among the forwards.
Having picked up the award in October, too, Clark will head for Steffans Jewellers to pick up another TW Steel watch and will be joined by TW Steel Clubman of the Month Mark Hopley.
Along with fellow Academy coach Paul Diggin, Hopley led the Saints Under-18s to a second straight Academies League final and within a whisker of retaining their title.
The youngsters won all six of their league games, while Hopley has also played an important role from a senior perspective on the training pitch.
Director of rugby Jim Mallinder says that both winners are more than worthy.
“For Calum to win the award for the second time this season shows not only how well he has played, but also an incredible level of consistency in those performances,” he commented. “It is good to see that the fans also appreciate his efforts.
“Mark, meanwhile, has done an excellent job with the Academy yet again this season. To come so close to winning the final for a second year is outstanding, while the work he does with the Wanderers in training is a vital part of the first team preparation for the weekend.”
