Saints Community return from Argentina after incredible three-day camp

Northampton Saints’ community coaching team extended its global reach even further after returning from a hugely successful first visit to the rugby hotbed of Argentina.

Having recently held international camps in Chile, Italy and Singapore, a three-strong team were hosted by Marista Rugby Club in the Mendoza Province, making the long journey from Northampton into South America before Christmas.

In partnership with Sudamerica Coaching, Ben Lawrence, Mark Satterthwaite and Josh Barton led a group of more than 90 youngsters aged from 11 to 16 over a three-day period.

Together they delivered coaching sessions that celebrated the best of Northampton Saints while embracing the culture and skill of the local players.

“It was an incredible five days in Mendoza,” said Saints’ Community Manager, Ben Lawrence. “The welcome and hospitality we received was some of the best I’ve encountered abroad.

“The kids were so receptive to what we wanted to coach them and their standard allowed us to really push them across the three days to put on a brilliant camp.”

“There’s some conversations in the works to get some dates in the future to return to Marista and build on the success of this first camp. I for one can’t wait to get back out there!”

As part of the agreement to run the camp, two players were chosen to come to Stowe School in August 2025 for the hugely-popular Saints Residential.

The annual camp is already well attended from players internationally, with young male and female players from around the world descending on the prestigious Buckinghamshire venue to participate.
