Northampton Saints forward Temo Mayanavanua has been selected for Fiji’s Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup 2024 opener against Samoa.
The second row packs down for his 18th cap in the first match of the tournament that kicks off at 7am UK time on Friday 23 August at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, Fiji.
With five titles, Fiji are the most successful team in Pacific Nations Cup history while opponents Samoa are a close second with four titles, the last of which was in 2022.
Fiji started their summer with a 21-12 win against Georgia before losing 47-5 to New Zealand.
After facing Samoa, Fiji take on Tonga (6 September) before entering the play-off/semi-finals. The second pool consists of Japan, Canada and USA.
