REMIT:
Northampton Saints are looking for a highly motivated Rugby Development Officer to join our Community Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to play an instrumental role in developing the provision of, and accessibility to, rugby across the Cambridgeshire area, whilst building relationships with local schools, clubs, and the wider community to leave a long-lasting positive sporting impact.
Great self-organization and communication skills are a must as the successful candidate will be working remotely, away from the Northampton Saints Community Hub at cinch stadium at Franklins Gardens.
This role is designed to build on our existing links, and establish new ones, with the Cambridgeshire community. As part of this exciting project, the successful candidate will be given the remit to deploy existing programmes, whilst exploring new community projects with local stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be engaging, personable, confident, and experienced in coaching rugby.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Establish, develop and maintain a stong local network with key stakeholders including schools, rugby clubs and community organisations.
- Host Northampton Saints rugby camps at sites across Cambridgeshire
- Deliver coaching sessions to schools and rugby clubs
- Build a core group of sessional Community Rugby Coaches to support the delivery of Community programmes across Cambridgeshire
- Support the Community Executive and Community Manager in driving sales and attendance at Northampton Saints Rugby Camps, as well as retaining coaching bookings with school partners
- Construct an annual calendar to support provision and development of rugby within schools and clubs, by organising coach education events, CPD’s, and schools festivals and competitions.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have great initiative to make key decisions to grow the project from the ground up
- Have excellent interpersonal skills to support strong relationships with stakeholders
- Be a confident rugby coach with experience in delivering to rugby to a number of different age groups
- Have the ability to self-organise and manage your own diary in order to work to deadlines and achieve targets
- Minimum RFU England Rugby Coaching Award (Level 2)
- Experience in coaching rugby
- Valid UK Driving License
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
